In March of 2018, we purchased Spring Hollow Farms. Cattle, pecan trees, a pond, woods, weddings and other family events seemed to be our combined calling. We feel blessed and honored to share in some of the most important "life events" of others.
Spring Hollow was once over 200 acres of a family farm. As mistakenly happens all too often, farms get broken up among siblings who have little or no interest in the land or farm, and it gets sold off.
In the late 1990's a local minister and well known business family, who loves horses, bought several small segments and put back together this 45.6 acres of the original farm. He built the horse barn and brought the main house in from Pembroke. He also built the caretaker's cottage for a full time caretaker of the farm and his horses. We now use this cottage for the brides and bridesmaids to get ready.
In 2013, a local businessman and his wife purchased it. Shortly after, they built the venue's pole barn to host their daughter's wedding. The farm was sold to us in 2018.
We are constantly adding to and improving on the esthetics of The Farm and ways to improve what we do and what we offer.
Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, it was love at first sight. L.E. worked his charm, trying to win Donna over, all while she cleaned his teeth and he had a mouth full of dental tools!
Before we purchased Spring Hollow, we owned and operated a landscape management company for MANY (too many!) years. We served Effingham, Chatham and Bryan counties for over 40 years!
Those years in that industry has helped facilitate a well groomed and picturesque setting here at The Farm.
Donna loves doing things for her family, especially her grandkids! She enjoys problem-solving and tackling projects, even taking things apart and fixing them. Gifted in logistics, she's gone the extra mile for brides, impressing them with her willingness to help, simply because she enjoys it.
L.E.'s passions are God, family, and friends. He enjoys reading Scripture and sharing its wisdom with others. Time spent with his children and grandchildren is a joy, as is working on the farm. He loves learning about raising cattle and improving the herd, and finds great satisfaction in working with machinery—especially on the tractor. However, nothing beats time with his grandkids!
